My Top 10: Most Anticipated Films Of 2015

After 2014 containing so many enjoyable blockbusters (especially in the summer), 2015 has a lot to live up to.

My top 10 show a lot of promise, But first, let's see which films that I may not be as excited about, but still intrigued to possibly go and see.

With all the films in January actually being 2014 films, February is usually the transition time when we start official 2015 films.
With that in mind, opening my 2015 will be the Wachowski's latest sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending. After originally scheduled for release in August 2014, they pushed the date by six months due to delays in the visual effects. After being a huge fan of The Matrix, V For Vendetta and Cloud Atlas, I am excited to see what they have to offer us this time. However, the trailer and the film being pushed forward makes me nervous that this could a honorable failure.

In March we have Neil Blomkamp back with another thrilling sci-fi adventure, Chappie. However, the trailer has made me unsure about it. To me, it is basically a modern re-telling of Short Circuit. The only thing pushing me to go is Blomkamp as I love his ideas within the sci-fi genre.
After the success of Rush in 2013, Director Ron Howard is back for the story that inspired the Moby Dick novel with In The Heart Of The Sea.
With summer approaching, some of my top 10 films start to appear. Into June and we have a film that is part of a franchise that is important to me and this is probably the film I am most nervous about. It is the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise. This time, we have Jurassic World. The first trailer looks like we could have another Jurassic Park III on our hands, but the Super Bowl advert looks a bit promising, but still not enough to get me excited. It will be interesting to see how that one goes.
July begins with another worry, and that is Terminator: Genisys. The trailer looks as if they are going to completely eradicate the original Terminator feature by James Cameron. I can see this being the end of the franchise. Other notable July movies sees Peter Pan origins story in Pan and a Marvel movie featuring a brand new superhero, Ant-Man. The title may put people off, but Marvel is becoming a constant success machine at the moment. There is also a re-make of Poltergeist. This will go either way for me. Could be a good re-make or a complete stinker.
Ending the summer in August, we have a Marvel re-boot with Fantastic Four, a feature film on the Goosebumps novel which I am intrigued to see, spy thriller based on the TV series The Man From U.N.C.L.E, a re-make of Point Break and an interesting sci-fi comedy, Pixels.
Beginning the Autumn season is another Disney live-action re-make of a classic, this time it's The Jungle Book. Also, Guillermo Del Toro is doing his own vision of the haunted house story in Crimson Peak.
Potential early Oscar contenders in the latter part of the year sees Steven Spielberg's Cold Way Spy Thriller 'St. James Place' and Ridley Scott's 'The Martian'. Ending the year, we have the fifth installment of the highly successful Mission:Impossible franchise.

One film that I would normally go to but have decided not to, is the live-action re-make of Cinderella. As usual, I gave the trailer a chance. But after seeing it, I felt I have had seen the entire film. They showed virtually all the important parts of the classic tale and I felt that I would not get anything else from watching the full thing. I hope I am wrong so I can eat my words.

There may be some films out there that I and many others do not know about that could do really well. Keep an eye out for those hidden surprises throughout 2015.

Here are my top most anticipated films, which include a top two that could crush the box-office and break all sorts of records:

10) The Good Dinosaur - After intially planning for a summer 2014 release, Pixar push this forward to November 2015.
It has been a while since Pixar made an instant classic in my opinion. So you can see they are making sure that get back to their ridiculously high standard of film-making.
This one sees a dinosaur embark on an epic journey with a human boy.

9) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 - Well here we are, the final part of the Hunger Games saga.

Every one has surpassed my expectations and the sequels keep making me remember how enjoyable these films are.

We the final battle between the rebels lead by their 'mockingjay' Katniss Everdeen take on the Capitol to engage in an all-out revolution.

8) The Walk - After the incredible film documentary Man On Wire, we now get a feature film version of this extraordinary true event.
We see Joseph Gordon-Levitt play French tightrope walker Philippe Petit who plans to tightrope walk the World Trade Center towers.
Directed by acclaimed director Robert Zemeckis and by the looks of the trailer, this film will be making the most of 3D technology.

7) Tomorrowland - Based off the themed land in Disneyland, director Brad Bird has seem to give the idea some legs.
Bird is such a great director and the trailer is already showing evidence of his touches.

I am very excited by this and the Super Bowl ad is enhancing it even more. It also has George Clooney.

6) Mad Max: Fury Road - With 30 years since the last Mad Max film, director George Miller is back.
It is by far the most exciting trailer of the year. If you have not seen it, please do because it will take your breathe away.
It is high on visuals and has a promising cast. All that is left is an engaging story with some interesting characters. Fingers crossed, because this could be a huge success.

5) Spectre - Bond is back, as is Skyfall director Sam Mendes.
This new feature is re-visiting an old enemy that we have not seen for quite some time.
Daniel Craig is back as Bond, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw returns as 'M' and 'Q'. But the villain is being played by the incredible Christoph Waltz. Early rumurs suggest that Bond's most well known villain is coming back in a modern way.

4) Inside Out - The first of two Pixar films to be released this year.
This one tells of the story from the perspective of emotions inside the head of a little girl.

The trailer is absolutely hilarious and Pixar could be onto a winner with this own.
I really hope this is the animated film of the year.

3) The Hateful Eight - Quentin Tarantino, is there anything else that needs to be said?
One of the most masterful directors of our time is back and is returning to the wild west.
A band of bounty hunters get caught up in a blizzard and take shelter. Will they all get along, or will it lead to betrayal and deception?

2) Avengers: Age Of Ultron - Marvel is becoming an unstoppable juggernaut of success and we are back with another Avengers movie.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is growing into something quite extraordinary and this latest installment could be its best yet.
This could rock the box-office.

1) Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens - Known by billions, and loved by hundreds of millions. After great success with Star Trek, director J.J Abrams is back to save the franchise after the poor showing from the three prequels.
The Force Awakens takes place 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi.
The trailer looks exciting and if Abrams succeeds, then he has the two most powrful sci-fi film franchises is in hands.
I have not seen a bad Abrams film and I have no doubt that this will be something special for the next generation of moviegoers.
